ANN ARBOR, MI — In the recently released 2025-26 rankings by U.S. News & World Report, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital has once again claimed the title of the best children’s hospital in Michigan. This marks the hospital’s 19th consecutive year holding this prestigious position, reflecting its continued excellence in pediatric care.

In addition to its state ranking, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital achieved recognition as the ninth best children’s hospital in the Midwest. Situated in Ann Arbor, C.S. Mott is a part of Michigan Medicine, which is the University of Michigan’s medical arm. The hospital was specifically acknowledged for its superior care across various specialties, including:

  • Cancer
  • Cardiology
  • Diabetes
  • Orthopedics

This recognition underscores the hospital’s commitment to children and their families. Luanne Thomas Ewald, chief operating officer of C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, expressed pride in the hospital’s achievements, stating, “This achievement reflects the dedication of our extraordinary doctors, nurses, and team members who put children and families at the center of all we do. We’re honored to serve as a destination for families seeking world class care for the most complex, rare and life-threatening pediatric conditions.”

The comprehensive rankings were compiled based on data collected from a survey distributed to pediatric doctors and children’s hospitals nationwide. U.S. News & World Report evaluated a total of 118 hospitals, analyzing factors such as clinical outcomes, care coordination effectiveness, and the availability of medical resources.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital topped the list as the best children’s hospital in the Midwest, with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus following closely behind. The rankings highlight the demand for high-quality pediatric care across various regions.

Dr. Kimberly Monroe, chief clinical officer at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, also remarked on the hospital’s impact, stating, “We’re incredibly proud of our talented teams whose commitment to clinical excellence continues to earn the trust of families from across the state and beyond.”

In addition to its acknowledgments, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital recently reopened its newly renovated Game Day Experience Room, a dedicated play space designed for patients and their families. This facility aims to enhance the hospital’s environment, making it more welcoming and supportive during challenging times. The reopening in June of this year showcases the hospital’s commitment to improving patient experiences beyond medical care.

The hospital’s reputation as a leading pediatric care provider not only impacts local families but also extends across the region, attracting families seeking advanced medical treatment for complex pediatric conditions. C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital stands as a beacon of hope and healing, consistently reaffirming its commitment to excellence in pediatric healthcare.
